Projects
Currently, we manage a number of projects in the mining and metallurgy fields.
Our company deals with development of both "greenfield" and "brownfield" projects on a worldwide basis. Projects connected with development of new mineral deposits include a full scope of prospecting activities as well as establishment of mining and processing facilities.

Prior to work commencement, our specialists evaluate market dynamics, analyze and select different ways of project development and suggest investment approaches taking into account the country's and industry's specifics. Apart from operationally launching a project, we also create corporate structures, approve and balance parties' interests, insure positive public relations with government and the communities involved, and solve other corporate issues.
PRECIOUS METALS PROJECT
Starting from 2003, the group of investors has been developing the project of establishing a vertically integrated holding company in Russia, which will unite a number of companies and assets and become one of the largest Russian companies dealing with geological prospecting, mining, processing and final production of precious and non-ferrous metals. It is planned that the new structure will become one of the leading Russian producers of platinum group metals.

The holding structure incorporates assets from the following companies: Koryakgeoldobycha, the Ekaterinburg Non-Ferrous Metals Processing Plant, and the Ural Chemicals Plant. The geographical diversification of mining and processing facilities will allow the holding company to benefit from the combination of Ural's industrial potential and the natural resources of Russia's North and Far East territories.
MANGANESE OF KALAHARI PROJECT
Manganese ore, an important component of steel production, is used to improve the quality of steel. The mineral is thus strategic and its demand is expected to increase in the world's steel production.

The main manganese deposits are located in the Republic of South Africa (80% of overall world resources). The biggest beds of manganese ore are located in the Northern Cape Province (Kalahari and Postmasburg). The Kalahari basin has 22 beds of high-quality ore, with several hundred million tons of resources.
In 2004, in response to the intergovernmental agreement of cooperation between Russia and South Africa, the Renova Group of Companies started the implementation of joint mining and metallurgical projects in South Africa. Investment Partner is a managing company of such projects.

Manganese of Kalahari Project became the leading project in South Africa. To develop the Project, a South African - Russian joint venture called United Manganese of Kalahari (UMK), was formed, where the Renova Group's and Investment Partner's share is 49%, while 51% belongs to a Black Economic Empowerment company.

The prospecting work programme in Kalahari will allow completion of detailed prospecting, estimation of the resources and preparation of a bankable feasibility study by early 2007. If prospecting results are positive, establishment of a mine with production capacity of 1.5 - 2.0 million tons per year will begin. Geological prospecting began in the Kalahari area in August 2005.
